Nov. 26-Dec. 3 Weekly Report
The McInroy Maines U18 team did their northern tour this weekend with games in Orillia and Barrie this past weekend.
The U18 Quinte Red Devils were hosted by the North Central Predators on Saturday at Rama. In a game that was back and forth from the first period on, it was NCP who struck first in the game with a goal in the first set of the game. The second went on to be a scoreless period but the third proven to be an exciting match up with the Devils tying the game on a goal from Avery Wease on the pass from Connor Weido. Weido would then go on the give the Devils the 2-1 lead later in the period, assisted by Liam Philip and Wease. In the last few minutes of the game, the Preds tied up the game at 2-2 and despite a 5 minute OT, the score remained tied. Benjamin Lind-Milekvist was in net for the Devils for the tie.
Sunday had the Devils playing the other half of the northern trip as they faced off against the Barrie Colts. The Colts caught the Devils off guard as they potted 4 goals in the first but the Devils continued to battle through the second and third, netting 2 of their own from Evan Erwin, assisted by Vincent Larose-Amyot, Wease and Deke Osterhout. In the end it was a disappointing 2-6 final for the Devils. Ryan Jacobs minded the net for the loss.
The Devils will be playing in the OMHA Crossover in Whitby next weekend to face the Oakville and Guelph.
