Major Bantam, 2015-2016 (Quinte Red Devils)

The CrossFit Belleville Bantams headed to Barrie for the OMHA Championships over the weekend and were ranked third in the overall rankings. A tall order was ahead if they were going to be OMHA Gold winners as they would need to knock off the 5th and 6th ranked teams in Ontario (Whitby Wildcats and Barrie Colts respectfully), the Devils would also need to beat the top two teams in the SCTA Halton Hurricanes and the Brampton 45’s along the way.

The CrossFit Belleville Bantams staged an epic series come back against the top Team in the ETA, after they gift wrapped game three for the Barrie Colts, giving them a 2-1 series lead in the best of five.

The CrossFit Belleville Bantams travelled to Barrie on Saturday to play the first of a home and home game over the weekend to start the second round of playoffs. The team is well prepared to play the top team in the ETA and are matched up well against the Colts who have owned the Devils over the last few seasons. This year’s version of the Red Devils team is resilient and has the horsepower to compete with a team that only lost 5 games all year in regular season.

Game 3 – Quinte (8) – Kingston (2) The Red Devil Bantams started the game slowly against the Kingston Frontenacs on Wednesday as they were scored upon during the first shift. Good teams find ways to win and good teams bounce back or have a “push back” shift and this is exactly what the Devils did on the second shift just seconds later as they tied the game up.

Game 1 – Quinte (6) – Kingston (2) The CrossFit Belleville Bantams started the playoffs against the Kingston Frontenacs on Saturday. The Bantams came ready to play and started strong against their ETA East and 401 rivals. They were shorthanded with Carden Guerin and Ryan Loiselle out with a suspension and an upper body injury and both players were missed by their team mates heading into the playoffs.
