Devils Battle on the Eastern Front
It was one up one down this week in Devil Land as the KKP Minor Midgets take two points against Eastern compatriots Oshawa and surrender the same number to Clarington.
vs. Oshawa Generals (5-1 win)
In a tough October schedule with 15 games in 31 days the Devils battled hard and came out with two points on the road in a tilly versus the Gens. It was a physical battle in which the Young Gentlemen Devils played hard and smart to come out on top. Scoring for the Devils were Matt Sherwin with two goals and Dawson Baker with the same. Joe Roy added a snipe from the blueline to round out the scoring. Assists in this game went to Nate Dunkley (2), Devin Morrison, Zach Wheeler, Nick Zarichny, and Matt Poole. Evan Morrison kept guard of the Devil's net and had a strong showing.
vs. Clarington Toros (4-0 loss)
Pierce Nelson was on duty for the 3 of the 4 goals in the game at the Rickard and it was his side that suffered the loss in a 2v3 match-up of the Eastern Division of the ETA. The Devils had the lions share of chances in this one but the Toros capitalized on their chances and solidified their win with an empty net goal.
With this tough schedule coming to a close the Devils finished out their week and month with two very focused and strategic practices to keep them hungry and prepared for the coming November.
