Maines U18 Red Devils had 2 games in the line up this past week as they played
host to the North Central Predators in Belleville on Saturday and travelled to
Richmond Hill to face the Coyotes on Sunday.
In the Saturday game, fans saw a lot of back and forth battles on the ice, it was the Devils who took control in the first hitting the scoreboard on a shot from Joey Coates, assisted by Jared Woolley and Luke Jarmin. After a scoreless second, Quinte found the back of the net again on another shot from Coates, assisted by Gage Butcher and Justin Murdoch. Closing out the game with a 3-0 victory, it was Glen McInnes in net for the shut out.
Road game to Richmond Hill Sunday had the Devils face the Coyotes. The Devils fell behind by a goal in the first and while they scored one in the second on a shot from Thomas Kuipers, on the set up from Coates and Ty McCambridge, they were down 3-1 going into the third. Two goals in the third were not quite enough to seal the game and the Devils lost 3-4. Scoring in the third were Kuipers and Coates. Assists were Coates, Cooper Kellar, Woolley and Kuipers. Dean Spry was in net for the loss.
On Deck : The McInroy Maines U18 Quinte Red Devils host at RCAF - Clarington Toros on Tuesday, Central Ontario Wolves on Wednesday. Travelling to Aurora to face YSE on Friday and to Peterborough to face the Petes on Sunday.
