On Friday evening, the Madison Excavating U12 Quinte Red Devils hit the road to face off against the Clarington Toros. QRD had an explosive start, finding the back of the net just thirty-six seconds into the game. Clarington responded midway through the first, evening the score at one apiece. The second period was a flurry of activity, with the Toros managing to score twice in under three minutes, putting Quinte on the defensive. In a strong show of resilience, the Devils managed to narrow the gap with another goal before the end of the second. Both teams battled hard in the third period, however, neither team was able to find the back of the net. In the end, Clarington held on to their lead, and Quinte took a 3-2 loss.
Saturday’s home game against York-Simcoe Express was postponed due to weather.
