The Playoffs Continue for the Madison Excavating U12s

In week two of playoffs for the Madison Excavating U12 Quinte Red Devils, the boys took to the road for a tilt against the Markham Waxers.

The Waxers wasted no time, scoring two quick goals; putting them ahead early in the game. As the second period commenced, the Waxers managed to net their third goal of the game. The Devils, however, fought back with determination, capitalizing on a powerplay opportunity to get themselves on the scoreboard. Despite their efforts, the Waxers responded with another powerplay goal of their own. With only thirty-two seconds remaining in the period, Quinte managed to close the gap once again, by scoring their second goal of the game. The period concluded with the Waxers maintaining a 4-2 lead. Entering the final frame, the Waxers intensified their offensive pressure, and they scored three consecutive goals, including two while on a powerplay. The game ultimately resulted in a 7-2 defeat for Quinte.

 

Sunday, March 3rd, vs. North Central Predators

After their tough loss on Saturday night, the U12 Quinte Red Devils were determined to find themselves back in the win column on Sunday. On home ice in Madoc, they took on the North Central Predators. From the opening faceoff, the Devils wasted no time asserting their dominance on the ice. Just twenty-nine seconds into the first period, they scored their first goal of the game. Building on their early momentum, the Devils continued to apply pressure, resulting in three more goals throughout the first period, one of which came during a powerplay opportunity. With an impressive 4-0 lead heading into the second period, the Devils had firmly established control of the game. As the action resumed in the second period, Quinte added two more goals, one of which was on a powerplay. Entering the final period with a commanding 6-0 lead, the Devils showed no signs of letting up. They capitalized on yet another powerplay opportunity to extend their lead further, scoring their seventh goal of the game. The North Central Predators fought valiantly to break through Quinte's defence and get on the scoreboard, but were ultimately unable to find the back of the net. The Devils emerged triumphant, with an outstanding 7-0 shutout victory over the North Central Predators, ending their weekend on a high note.
