Wednesday, January 17th, @ Kingston Jr. Gaels
In a mid-week match-up, the
Madison Excavating U12 Quinte Red Devils travelled to Kingston for a tilt against the Jr. Gaels. The game kicked off with an energetic first period, during which the Devils set the tone by scoring the first goal, six minutes into the game. The early lead put pressure on the Gaels. Approximately halfway through the second period, Kingston found the back of the net, evening the score at one each. Both teams fought fiercely in an attempt to get ahead. Less than a minute into the third period, the Devils scored the game-winning goal, solidifying a
2-1 victory.
Saturday, January 20th, vs. York-Simcoe Express
On Saturday evening, the U12s clashed against the York-Simcoe Express. The first period saw York-Simcoe assert dominance early on, scoring two and putting QRD in a tough spot. Entering the second period, the Devils aimed to regroup and mount a comeback, however, YSE struck again with a powerplay goal to extend their lead to 3-0. Despite a strong push by the Devils in the final frame, they were unable to overcome the three-goal deficit, resulting in a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Express.

“The team played two pretty good games this past week, but ran into a couple of strong opposing goaltenders. We look forward to playing both teams again in the near future and giving them our best effort.”
