The Madison Excavating U12s Earn 4/6 Points this Weekend
Friday, February 2nd, @ Kingston Jr. Gaels

In an intense match-up this past Friday night, the Madison Excavating U12 Quinte Red Devils travelled to Kingston to face the Jr. Gaels. The first period saw both teams battling fiercely, but neither could find the back of the net. The second period, however, exploded with action . . .

. . . Kingston seized an early lead with a goal, only to be quickly answered by an equalizer from Quinte, just thirty-seven seconds later. Kingston retaliated, netting two more goals within a minute. The Devils then responded with a second goal before the second frame ended. Going into the third period, the score was 3-2 in favour of the Gaels. Quinte made a stunning comeback, scoring four consecutive goals and emerging victorious with a final score of 6-3.

Saturday, February 3rd, @ Central Ontario Wolves

In a tightly contested game on Saturday afternoon in Woodville, the Devils faced off against the Central Ontario Wolves. The Wolves took an early lead with a goal midway through the first period. The second period saw the Wolves extending their advantage with another goal, only to face a swift response from Quinte, just over two minutes later. Despite intense play in the third period, no additional goals were scored, leading to a 2-1 loss for the Devils.

Sunday, February 4th, vs. Central Ontario Wolves

On Sunday afternoon in Madoc, the Devils came out strong in a follow-up clash with the Wolves. The Devils secured an early lead with a goal under five minutes into the game. The offensive momentum continued as Quinte netted their second goal just over two minutes later. Despite a hard-fought second period that nearly went goalless, Central Ontario managed to break the shutout with a goal just twenty-three seconds before the buzzer, narrowing the score to 2-1 in favour of the Devils. No goals were scored in the third, and Quinte emerged triumphant with a final score of 2-1.

Coach’s Corner with Head Coach, Evan Osterhout:

“The team showed some real character this week. Coming back from two goals down on Friday and tough battles on Saturday and Sunday were a testament to the players’ never-give-up attitude.”
