Gillespies Tree Service QRD U14’s Weekly Report - Jan 1, 2024
The U14 Quinte Red Devils were back in action after the Christmas holidays break as they travelled to Toronto for the Marlboros International Holiday Classic.
They started the weekend off against the Southern Tier Admirals where they had a fantastic start to the tournament with a
4-1 victory with Ferriss in between the pipes. Later on that afternoon the Red Devils had a rematch from the early bird tournament with the Mississauga Rebels, where the Devils were victorious once again 3-0 with Gayle posting the shutout.
Leading into the final day of round robin play the Devils were feeling good at 2-0 before their match versus the Rochester Americans. The scoring ability was in full effect in this one as the Devils cruised to a 8-2 victory backed by Ferriss in net.
Leading into the last game of the day the Red Devils had already secured a spot in the Quarterfinals the next day when they ran into a strong Mississauga Sens team. The Devils fell 5-1 but were ready to get it going again the next morning for their matchup against the Ottawa Myers Automotive team. After a hard fought game the Devils lost 4-2 to end their tournament. The team finished amongst the top 8 teams in the tournament and had a fun weekend.
They will be back in regular season action on the 4th against the Kingston Jr. Gaels.
