Gillespie's Tree Service QRD U14’s Weekly Report - March 25, 2024
The Gillespie’s Tree Service U14 Quinte Red Devils travelled to Newmarket this past weekend to compete at the OMHA Championship.
They started the round robin games off against the Central Ontario Wolves Friday afternoon. After a back and forth start to the game the Devils walked away with a 3-2 win to start the weekend.
The Devils were ready to go Saturday morning when they faced off against the Credit River Capitals for the first time this season. After Credit River got off to a hot start the Devils surged back to take a convincing 5-3 win, clinching first place in their pool.
With a quick turn around the Devils played against the Niagara North Stars Saturday night and ended up dropping the game 5-3.The Devils were back in action Sunday morning to play against the Barrie Jr. Colts in the Semi finals. After a hard fought game the Devils dropped this one 7-4 to end their tournament run.
The squad qualified for the OHL Cup in Kingston April 20th weekend with the third place finish at the OMHA Championship.
